Mobile apps.Backend systems.Migrations, shipped.

Abstract

appXcale is a senior engineering studio for startups and established businesses building mobile products, modernizing the backends behind them, and migrating off the legacy systems holding the business back. We embed with your team1 and ship to production2 — so your company keeps up with its industry instead of falling behind it.

§ 01 / Practice

Three things
we ship.

A. Mobile
B. Backend
C. Migrations

Mobile apps,
built to last.

iOS, Android, cross-platform. We design, build, and ship the mobile products your business depends on — and own version ten the way we owned version one. Native performance, store-ready, instrumented from day one.

Backend systems,
that scale with you.

APIs, services, data pipelines, integrations. We build the engine room — Node, Django, Postgres, AWS — that powers your apps, your operations, and the next thing you haven't shipped yet. Reliable, observable, easy to change.

Panel C · § 303/03

Legacy migrations,
made surgical.

Move off the system that fights every change. We refactor monoliths into services, migrate to cloud-native, and bring stacks up to the standard your competitors already operate on — phased, reversible, shipped behind feature flags so the business never stops. AI-ready when you're ready for it.

  • Phased rollouts, zero-downtime cutovers
  • Modern tooling, CI/CD, observability

§ 01.5 / Notes
How we operate · 5 rules
  1. 1.

    Ship working software

Demos pay for themselves. Decks do not.

  2. 2.

    Engineer the boring parts

Tests, types, telemetry. Velocity comes from boring.

  3. 3.

    One team, one Slack

No subcontracting carousel. The people you meet build it.

  4. 4.

    Own the runway

Architecture should outlast the feature that requested it.

  5. 5.

Build for real users, not demos

If it can't survive your worst customer, it doesn't ship.

§ 02 / Studio

We are not an agency.
We are a studio that writes code.

AppXcale was founded in 2022 on a simple bet — a small, senior, embedded team can move a product further in a quarter than a full vendor can in a year. We started by helping startups ship faster. We do that same work now for established businesses too — building the mobile apps that put them in customers' pockets, the backends that hold their operations together, and migrating off the legacy systems that quietly tax every other priority. We help companies stay competitive in industries that aren't slowing down.

We work as an extension of your engineering org. We pair-program, we're in your standups, we open PRs against your repo. We don't hand off Figma comps over the wall and call it a day. The studio is small on purpose — eight people, EST timezone, all senior. The work passes through hands that built it before, and will own it after.

IPILLAR

Mission

Be the engineering partner companies call when staying competitive isn't optional — and never want to replace.

IIPILLAR

Origin

Founded in 2022 to connect senior engineers with startups in motion. From Reck'N to Roga, every product we touch ships into real customer hands.

IIIPILLAR

Horizon

Over the next decade — deeper work in mobile, backend systems, and the modernization of stacks that today's competitive pressure can't wait on. Modern capabilities, including AI, wired in where they actually move the business.

Reck'N

We replaced the bar-and-restaurant ordering bottleneck with a custom mobile platform and the backend behind it: a customer app, a venue order-management app, an admin panel, and a web flow that lets even non-app users send drinks. Faster service, less staff load, and a social layer that pulls customers back. The kind of operational backbone hospitality can't buy off the shelf.
